Introducing Diss
Diss is a small market town with a population of about 7,500 situated in South Norfolk right on the Norfolk/Suffolk border. Whilst it has a relatively small population, there is a wide catchment area of about 50,000. Almost situated in the centre of East Anglia, Norwich, Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds are all about 22 miles away. There are regular bus services to al three and the surrounding areas together with mainline railway station on the Norwich to London Liverpool Street line.
Diss is renowned for The Mere, a lake in the centre of town covering about 6 acres and adjoining The Park. Market on Fridays.
Historic Buildings include the early 14th-century St Marys Parish Church, the 1850s corn exchange which holds meeting, theatre and cinema and 16th-century building known as the Dolphin House. This was one of the most important buildings in the town, possibly a wool merchant's house.
